The Use Of CCTV To Cut Crime On The Streets

I have just watched a program which was all about the way in which the police are attempting to stay one step ahead of the criminals. I thought the program was fascinating and this is why I have decided to write this article to share some of the information with you guys and girls, the readers. It certainly opened up my eyes and has made me think about ways or protecting my website promotion business.

CCTV remains one of the biggest weapons the police have to fight local crime however these systems are becoming more sophisticated with a much higher quality of picture. In the past a crime was recorded but you could hardly make out the person in the film which was extremely frustrating for all concerned - apart from the criminal of course!

Not only are the systems becoming more sophisticated they are also becoming much more common on our streets - especially in the city centres. This is of major help to the police in not only catching the crooks but it also aids in reducing crime. I live in Birmingham, which is the second largest city in the United Kingdom, and it now feels much much safer to walk around the city centre streets at day or night than it did 10 years ago. There is still the need for a large number of security personel in Birmingham as well as other cities such as door supervisors Liverpool and retail security Liverpool - for obvious reasons.

The police are using an ever increasing number of special police, some of which are paid members of staff and other who are purely volunteers. They wear a special uniform and are an extra presence on the streets. They have powers however these are limited in comparison to the fully fledged police officers.

The police message to the criminals out there - please beware we are becoming ever more powerful and tech savvy!
