As we now have made our way by John first letter there is a query which arises and which wants answering. Now we have been asking that query, is Jesus of Nazareth both God and Man, within the flesh? On the finish of Chapter three and into Chapter four this is most relevant. It is a crucial test, and we now have to be clear on this. We need to know exactly who Jesus is in nowadays when many people have various views about Jesus.
This is what John is dealing with on this section. A worthy chief will all the time take time to deal with real points and this was one then and is an issue today.
Many are concerned about how this world is being led by second rate leaders simply now, and into this vacuum could simply step the anti-Christ. That is one of the reasons as to why we should be clear in our pondering concerning Jesus. Even though the world goes after them, John says to these believers in Jesus, do not you go.
John is so mature and tender and loving, and yet, when he is talking about error and false prophets he is so strong.
John is saying, "I'm telling you what to not believe, and whom you should not believe, as a result of I love you and God loves you and Jesus Christ loves you.
Be cautious - test all the pieces - don't believe anybody or anything frivolously - and do not be tolerant of error. Tolerance just isn't a Christian virtue but it may well regularly show itself within the type of superficial or false love. Mild comes earlier than love within the Bible, and not everyone seems to be willing to just accept that.
