As a person who works as a managing director of a small to medium sized retail company I am very much aware of the importance of retail security. In this article I will be writing about the reasons why it is so essential to have this security.
As an organisation we employ a lot of people and the safety of our staff is something that is very important and is something that we take very seriously. We, of course, would like each and every member of our workforce to feel safe and secure when they come to do their days or nights work. Fortunately we work with a professional security company that help provide re-assurance.
In retail, and I am quite sure in many other business sectors, from time to time we come across members of society who want to cause mischief - this maybe because they have a mental illness - you would be surprised as to how many of these people cause us problems in our shops, in a way some would say that it is not so much their fault but the fault of their illness. Alternatively it could be that they are under the influence of alcohol or some form of narcotic - and at other times it is just because they are up to no good. Believe me - over the years we have seen it all.
In these situations such as when people are trying to shoplift or when people are drunk it is very important that we have security in place to not only deal with the situation but to also protect the other members of staff. As you can see to have suitable security guards or other personnel is essential.
For some reason we always see an increase in unsuitable behaviour in times of financial hardship which makes the above even more of a must have.
